ABOUT START RIGHT BASKETBALL

Start Right Basketball offers kids a chance to learn and grow, regardless of their future in basketball.

No child enjoys being sidelined or having the game dominated by a few ball hogs. With Start Right Basketball kids have an alternative to the norm.

As a father of two girls, I’ve found it disheartening to see many children quitting sports due to overly competitive environments that prioritize winning over skill development.

​

Basketball demands various skills before it becomes enjoyable for most kids, yet many programs focus solely on scrimmaging, favoring competitiveness over inclusivity.

​

Our focus is on providing a fun space for kids to develop skills, with the hope that if they choose to join a team someday, that's great!  But even if they don't, as long as they've gained confidence, learned to enjoy being active, or realized they can improve with effort, we see that as a victory.
